Must Have Monday {On Thursday}

Ok, y'all! I know I'm posting left and right within the last couple of hours.. and I'm sorry! Just trying to play "catch up"! :)

 

This one is short and sweet, but a definite must have!

My MUST HAVE for this week is my iPhone!!! I did SO MUCH on it this weekend/week while my home internet was out! I would have missed out on some fabulous giveaways, blog posts, emails, text messages, phone calls, conversations, pins, TpT updates, ETC. without it!

 

My hubby constantly tells me I have a technology addiction and I totally agree and I tell him I have no idea what he's talking about! ;)

 

And now, I will leave you with some iPhone humor. If you are an addict like me, I think you will love them! :)

 

 

 

 



An Apple A Day Linky - Classroom Decor

Yes, I am late to this linky party thanks to my internet complications...

 

But better late than never right?!?
I am linking up with Leigh over at The Applicious Teacher for her summer linky party! It's a weekly linky with different themes each week so be sure and check back for more awesome linky-ness and ideas! :)

 

This week's topic is Classroom Décor! I am sure kicking myself right now for not taking more pictures of my classroom but I was able to wrangle up a couple of them!

 

My theme is jungle/zebra. I have posters of various zoo animals that I bought from Oriental Trading along with matching motivational posters.

 

I have 3 bulletin board areas in my room so I bought zebra print fabric in 3 color patterns {pink/black, white/black, blue/black}. I covered the bulletin boards each in a different fabric and then lined it with hot pink/black zebra print duct tape instead of your typical bulletin board border. :)

 

I also have a zebra job chart where I am able to just move the clothespins down every week to alternate jobs:

 

I also made myself a zebra print teacher toolbox last summer:

 

I also have a zebra print Word Wall:

 

I will definitely be sticking with my zebra/jungle theme next year because I just have a deep obsession with zebra print and won't part with it for several years! I am currently working on more jungle themed items to add to my room for this upcoming school year such as my Common Core I Can Statements! :)

Central Florida Bloggy Meetup!

So I rarely post on Tuesdays but this is a special occasion because I am participating in a book study this summer that I am super stoked about!!!

 

 

I have signed up to participate with Gina from Third Grade Tidbits and Jenn from Rowdy in First Grade for this awesome book study! We are reading Teach Like a Pirate by Dave Burgess!

Five for Friday! {May 31, 2013}



Alright, well, my Five for Friday is LATE and I'm sorry!

 

I sat here last night trying desperately to get it done when my internet decided to test my patience. Well, the internet won that battle so alas, here I am, trying it once again! :)

 

I hope you all can forgive me!

 



Well, here are my 5 randoms for this week!

 

 

 

1. Back in February, we have an Oscars contest where we vote who we think will win all of the categories. I actually WON this year which was awesome! As a winner, I got to choose a gift card to my favorite restaurant and two movie tickets. I chose Longhorn because it's one of my favs! My hubby and I FINALLY got to go out on a date night this week using my gift card!

 



2. This past Memorial Day weekend was awesome because I got some much needed quality time with my family! This is my little cutie pie who will be 3 next month! We were getting ready to go play mini-golf! It was Arielle's first time and she loved it! :)

 

3. This week at school we have been working on these AWESOME Paper Bag Memory Books! The kids have really enjoyed it, as have I! They are very unique and very fun to make! Click on the pic if you want to check it out! :)

 

 

4. This past Thursday, some ladies from my team at school all got together at The Melting Pot for their "Teacher Appreciation Night" dinner! It was an amazing 3-course meal and so much fun! This is a pic of our dessert plate for our Chocolate S'mores fondue and OH. MY. GOODNESS. It was AMAZING!!!

 

 

 

5. Yesterday was our 1st grade Field Day and it was such a blast! I snapped this pic during the station where they had to put on these OVERSIZED clothes, run down and around a cone and back, take them off and tag the next person. What a HOOT it was to watch them. I think it was the class favorite because every pic I snapped had a child with a HUGE GRIN plastered on their face!! :)

 

 

And before I leave you tonight, I wanted to share my two newest games that I uploaded yesterday evening (before my internet decided to fight me!)

 

 

These are great reading games and the kiddos love them! I have many more versions that I plan on making... but at least I have two to start with so far!

June Currently! {Already?!?}

Wowza! June already?!? I don't know WHERE this year has gone!!!

 

A plus to it being June 1st is that it's time to link up with Oh' Boy 4th Grade for the June Currently Linky! Woot, woot!

 





Listening - As I'm typing this, I'm listening to the moms from Dance Moms duke it out on the season finale reunion special. It was definitely on like 3 weeks ago... and I'm just now watching it. Oops.

 

Loving - That summer break is almost here! I have 5 days left total. 3 days with my kiddos (all of which are short day schedules) and 2 post-planning days (which is never enough)! I am so ready for a mental break where I can just lounge around at home! (And create some new products of course!)

 

Thinking - that despite my happiness to be out for summer.. I am TRULY going to miss this class! I just LOVE them so much and that became apparent to me when I started tearing up at Field Day on Friday! I do NOT look forward to Wednesday when they say their final goodbyes to me! I'm going to be a total mess! Please tell me I'm not the only one!

 

Wanting - a manicure and pedicure! I don't even know the last time I had one... probably about 2 years ago. How pathetic is that???

 

Needing - some plastic storage containers! With post-planning quickly approaching, I am desperate for some new storage containers so that I can organize my centers!

 

3 Vacay Essentials: 1. Kindle Fire - I love to read but rarely have time to do it for pleasure! I also have several series I want to re-read this summer!

2. Sunscreen - I am a pasty, pale person so this is a given as to why I need it!

3. Camera - I am a picture freak! I just looooove pictures! I have to have some sort of camera with me no matter where I go! :)
